Canine Massage for pain relief

Clinical Canine Massage

Rehabilitates soft tissue and muscular injuries and helps with chronic pain management of orthopaedic and neurological conditions

What is Clinical Canine Massage?

It is a hands on, non invasive therapy which helps rehabilitate soft tissue dysfunction and muscular injuries, such as lameness, limping, stiffness and slowing down, and manage chronic pain caused by orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia, and spondylosis.

Techniques used are Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Remedial Sports Massage together with Myofascial releases (direct and indirect approaches) and the 7 protocols of the Lenton Method®   to address the specific issues of each dog.

It is suitable for all dogs of all ages, and is especially beneficial for senior and sporting dogs and can improve gait, posture, behaviour and performance.  Sessions are bespoke for each dog and results are usually seen in 1-3 sessions.

Benefits of Canine Massage

A dog's anatomy and physiology is exactly the same as their human's, which is why they benefit so much from        massage. Clinical trials of Canine Massage using the Lenton Method®  at the University of Winchester concluded that 95% of dogs respond positively to Canine Massage Therapy. About me

My name is Jaynee Cano Miserachs and I live in Bingley, West Yorkshire with my husband, 2 children and 3 dogs - Pablo, Oro and George.

I have been lucky to have dogs with me for my whole life, and am passionate about Clinical Canine Massage as a complementary therapy.  It treats dogs holistically and looks not only at the presenting issue, but also other contributing factors such as environment, diet and physical well being. I find it fascinating how  the different systems of the body work together, and how a dysfunction in one can lead to dysfunction in others.

It is suitable for a whole range of dogs and works on easing pain, improving muscular issues and mobility, as well as soothing the nervous system, helping to relieve stress and anxiety, releasing endorphins, and giving dogs the 'feel good factor'. I have always loved dogs, and believe that they truly are man's best friend. There are so many dogs that need help and would benefit from this therapy and I want to help as many as I can.

I specialise in treating dogs with a range of issues including soft tissue injuries such as sprains or strains, and orthopaedic conditions including arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia, luxating patella and spondylosis.

I studied for 2 years to become a Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner and am a member of the Canine Massage Guild. I completed over 1200 hours of learning with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre, which has given me a thorough understanding of Anatomy, Physiology, Body Language and practical hands on experience.

In addition to Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sport Massage, and Myofascial release techniques, I was taught the Lenton Method®, directly by Natalie Lenton,  The Lenton Method TM is exclusive to the course and trialled at Winchester University in the worlds first clinical trials on Canine Massage therapy. Results showed that 95% of dogs responded positively to the therapy and the results were published in the British Veterinary Association Journal.
